Information – In order for Kenyons to give you a prescription the following conditions must be met:
A full eye test is required a minimum of once every two years. If you have an existing condition an eye test is required every 12 months.
We cannot prescribe contact lenses if you have not had an eye test within the last 12 months.
We are dedicated to delivering the very best in eye care. That’s why we’ve invested in our very own Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machine.
An OCT machine is a specialist system that carries out a non-invasive analysis of your eye. It provides us with a detailed 3D cross-section image of your retina. This helps us make a more accurate diagnosis and spot early warning signs of diabetes, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration (ARMD).
We don’t use the OCT machine in every examination as it is not necessary. Where we do need further analysis*, the OCT machine helps us diagnose eye-related diseases early enough to prevent serious damage or slow down deterioration.
We take eye care seriously and we hope that our investment in this specialist equipment shows our dedication to providing exceptional services.
*There is an additional charge of £30.00 for the OCT Eye Examination.

Ocular Coherence Tomography
The SPECTRALIS® 4D HD Eye Health Check is much more than your standard sight test.
It employs the use of a high-tech eye scanner to scan your eyes and look for very early signs of retinal disease.
This technology is used on board the International Space Station to check the health of astronaut’s eyes and now you can have your eye health checked in exactly the same way here on planet Earth!
This is a non-invasive medical imaging technique for mapping the surface curvature of the cornea, the outer structure of the eye.
The cornea is responsible for approximately 70% of the eye’s refractive power, so its topography is of critical importance in determining the quality of vision and corneal health.
Colorimetry is ‘the science and technology used to quantify and describe physically the human colour perception.’
It is similar to spectrophotometry, but is distinguished by its interest in reducing spectra to the physical correlates of colour perception.
